Phone Cards

We all like to keep in contact with our friends and family and sometimes we are even in a situation that we may need phone calling capabilities for getting in touch with employers or employees even. Since the cost of long distance phone calls can be up there, phone cards make it a safe bet for this type of calling, even locally made calls work out well with the use of them.

Always make sure that you purchase your phone card from a reputable company so you don’t have to worry about things like hidden fees. Unfortunately some of the cards you will use, if not from a known company can have you encountering way too many busy signals when trying to use their service. And if you are trying to make an urgent or important phone call, you do not want to be encountering a busy signal. So, you have given your child a phone card, now what? Will they remember the number? You can work this issue out easily, use just one phone card time and time again, having it recharged so that you don’t have to keep changing the number they are using. This way you just purchase minutes and then when it is nearly used up you just recharge the card. Thus having the same number and only that one number to memorize.

Travel Use

It is safe to say if you are traveling you will need to make a phone call and what better way to have a rechargeable phone card. The cards are especially useful if you are traveling overseas since they can be used internationally. Again, just make sure you use a reputable company in which to make your purchase.

Student Use

Your student will need to be in contact with you some time or another and in the dormitories it would be a great time to utilize a phone card. This too can save your student money if you purchase a rechargeable phone card you can simply have it re-filled when they get low on time.

Home Usage

Even in the home it is good to have available a phone card. Some times you may not want to call out of country and these are great for that purpose. What about saving on your monthly phone bill. Have the long distance blocked on that and then use only the phone card when you have to occasionally make the long distance call. Now all you have to worry about paying for basic phone service each month. One small disadvantage is that you will have to dial the card number for each of the long distance calls you will need to make.

One more downside to mention is that when you make outgoing calls using a phone call, the recipient will not know it is you calling if they have caller ID. It will come up on their end as unknown number. So if you know someone that does not answer a call unless it is someone they recognize on their caller ID, they will most likely not pick up your call. Leaving you to leave a message and they can get back to you.
