Tv Apps For Your Smartphone

Posted on 3rd February 2012 in Communication

You can now watch TV on your Smartphone. There are lots of apps, both free and paid, that you can download to turn your Smartphone into a TV receiver. You can stream TV directly to your cell phone. I was a bit skeptical about watching the show on such a tiny screen, but my Droid X is really pretty good for this function. The viewing was amazingly sharp and had good sound.

The best apps really depend on your specific Smartphone. Of course there are apps for the Droids and apps for the iPhone, but there are even more distinctions than that. If you have an Android Smartphone, you need to make sure that your phone is capable of using Adobe Flash. Some of the HTC Smartphones dont have this capability (HTC Wildfire, HTC Desire HD). Many of the apps for the Androids require Wi-Fi or 4G, or are very slow. That being said, I only have 3G and didnt hook it up to a Wi-Fi to watch some shows on TV.com on my Droid X. It worked fine.

Android TV Apps and their ratings:
TV.com 4 stars free
TV Shows HD 4 stars free
Pandora TV 4 stars free
TVCenterr.com 4 stars free
SPB TV 4 stars free
Droid Streamer Pro 3 1/2 stars free
Droid TV 3 stars – free
TV Shows Stream 4 1/2 stars – .89
Droid TV Pro 3 1/2 stars – .99

Article by Lorin Willis

Let’s face it, smartphones have become an essential part of our lives. Whether it comes to using GPS to make your way to a new destination, finding local businesses with the help of an application, or looking up something you don’t know on the fly, most people would be completely lost without them. Despite the prevalence of smartphones, there are quite a few misconceptions concerning them. Although it’s virtually impossible to list all of the smartphone myths that are out there, there’s a few worth mentioning, including a widely-popular one that you may be guilty of believing.

Battery life is one of the most precious commodities in the 21st century; people spend an exorbitant amount of time and effort researching ways to keep their batteries juiced up and chugging along. One of the most popular tactics people employ to preserve battery life is letting the battery drain all the way down to 0% before charging it again. While this technique may be useful for older batteries or batteries with specific problems, it is definitely not necessary for a majority of the batteries used in smartphones today. This is because the most popular type of smartphone battery, lithium-ion-based batteries, can cope with sporadic charges, regardless of whether the phone is fully depleted or not.
