Photonic Computing

In today’s scenario there is growing dependence on computing technology, the need for high performance computers has significantly increased. With the help of virtual product design and development, costs can be reduced hence looking for improved computing capabilities are desirable. Photonic computing includes the Photonic calculation of transformation and Photonic pattern matching. Emerging technologies also make the Photonic storage of data a reality. Photonic desktop computer is capable of processing data up to 1,00,000 times faster than current models. outsourced software development companies can gain a lot of efficiency by using Photonic computers.

Photonic computers use the transfer and manipulation of photons, which are pulses of light, as a means of transferring and performing calculations of data. For performing calculations, Photonic computers manipulate the flow of electrons through logic gates composed of transistors, which acts like switches – located in the computer’s Central Processing Unit. Photonic computers, like modern computers, works in a similar fashion in the sense that they both transfer and manipulate data in the form of bits, however, unlike traditional computers where bits are represented as electrons, Photonic computers represent bits in the form of photons. The Photonic computer uses only light to collect, retrieve, and process data. This makes it operate much faster than electronically based computers because information and processing occurs at the speed of light. Another key benefit of the Photonic computer is that less energy is used to power the system and it does not have the same interference problems that make it difficult for current chip manufacturers to make smaller transistors. This is because light energy does not interact with other photons. The processor itself is a laser inscribed piece of crystal made in the laboratory and the current system uses only a huge amount of RAM to store information. Although this system is complete, it is still very simple and not very useful.

Cloud Computing Introduction

Posted on 2nd October 2011 in Computer

Cloud computing is a new buzz in the Information Technology world. As the name implies, cloud computing includes anything that involves applications and services that run and hosted on the internet.

Actually, in spite of the fact that the term of “cloud computing” is somehow new, the concept itself is not so new. We have already used cloud computing for long ago. Anytime we use an application that is not hosted on our own computer, we make use of the cloud computing services available on the internet. We are all familiar with email services provided by Gmail, or Yahoo. This is actually a services we get from the so called “cloud computing”. So the first basic concept of cloud computing is simple: the use of services hosted somewhere in the internet, per demand, rather than hosting the services permanently on our computer.

But what’s new about cloud computing? Why is it perceived as a new technology?

The buzz has built lately due to the increasing use of internet by the world’s population, either for personal purposes or for firms and large companies. The increase of demand for services and applications that are located somewhere in the internet cloud, rather in our computer, paved the way for new technologies, well suited for distributed computing power and distributed services, with high availability to everyone, at any time.

Do You Really Own Your Own Files? Risks of Cloud Computing

Article by Worth Godwin Computer Training

In this article I’m going to clear up a rumor that’s been going around, help you understand a computer term you’ve probably heard but may not have understood, and give you some advice that will protect you from a computer mistake.

There’s a rumor floating around that Facebook is shutting down for good on March 15th of 2011. This is not true. Depending on your view of Facebook, that may be good news or it may be bad news.

The rumor most likely started with the fact that Yahoo Video is shutting down for good on that date. I want to use what’s happening as an example to help you understand a couple of things that are very important and will become more important in the coming months and the next few years.

If you’re wondering, Yahoo Video is a video sharing service Yahoo has offered for years, and is basically the same idea as YouTube, only not as widely used.

It may not be as big as YouTube, but it’s still used by millions and millions of people, so it’s a shame it’s going away, but is only a symptom of the larger problems going on with Yahoo at the moment.

As a matter of fact, things are not looking good for Yahoo right now, and the company may not be around at all for much longer — it’s rapidly shedding employees and closing down very popular and widely-used services.

Cloud Computing

Posted on 24th July 2011 in Computer

Cloud computing is a technology that makes use of Internet and central remote servers to maintain and process data and applications. Cloud Computing is an emerging field in technology that finds a better solution to all business men especially of small organizations to prosper their business. Cloud computing provides various services and advantages to its customers.

Imagine that you are the CEO of a company. In order for your business to go on you are required to buy the costlier software, say Oracle, and you will have to pay for it in order to enjoy its benefits to the fullest. Moreover you will have to pay its maintenance fee every time. Your job doesn’t end here. You will have to see the right set of hardware and software need to be provided for the subordinates. Once your organizations requirements seem to increase you will have to hire new employees which again require purchase of hardwares and softwares.

What else is needed for you to panic day and night!! Small organizations have no scope to survive in these conditions.

Well, cloud computing is a better solution to your problem. All you need for incorporating this technology is just an Internet connection!! And you require no softwares to be bought or installed other than the application software which runs the Internet.

New Cure for Hassle-full Computing

Posted on 15th March 2011 in Computer

Let’s face it for many being on the computer is hassle-full. Being on the computer isn’t fun and productive any more.

Whether your home or business computers are online or offline over time they seem to slow down and many times crash. Being on the computer isn’t fun and productive any more. What is it that

causes these problems?

It’s my experience that the average individual knows a lot about his/her chosen field and very little about computer repair services and protecting information stored on a home or business computer.

Most of us are looking for a simple easy way to work or play on our computer. Unfortunately, computers have become complicated, necessary tools. Yet, it seems, several months after purchasing a computer it begins to bog down and run slower. You might experience mysterious freeze ups and crashes. Once this problem turns into a nuisance, generally, the computer is taken into a computer repair service shop where it will be out of commission for a week or so and a few hundred dollars spent to clean it up.

Most people don’t understand the relationship between a slow running computer and cyber-crime. Yet, the relationship is huge. There is a huge need to develop safe computer practices and rely on

an emerging computer industry called “Personal Computer Services.”

Hype on Cloud Computing, Mainframe on the Back Seat

Posted on 1st February 2011 in Computer

When people say “Big Iron” they are referring to those powerful computers or the mainframes. They are generally used in vital applications in big companies usually involved in massive processing of data like census, statistics and transaction processing.

One of the biggest benefits of mainframes is their reliability in processing massive amounts of data no matter if one or two systems break down it will continue to function compared to normal computers and their biggest disadvantage falls on the high cost of hardware, OS software including its maintenance.

Cloud computing is a web – based application wherein shared resources, software and data are supplied to computers and other tools on demand.

Cloud computing provides a lot of benefits and one of its greatest benefits is cutting down the costs of big and small companies. Its disadvantages lie more on the security risks.

The enormous hype on cloud computing makes it seem that most companies who are doing business have learned to adopt its use but are these companies really ready to move all their information on the cloud or are they going to keep something in – house? A lot of companies have been taking advantage of its benefits but moving to the cloud is a step by step process and it will take some time to completely realize its aftermath.

The Start of Mainframe Computing
