Dish Network, Satellite TV, Cable, and DirecTV, Oh My!

Posted on 12th September 2011 in Cable and Satellite TV

With all of the stories about rising cable television prices and the rumors of satellite TV and weather related problems and outages, just who are you supposed to believe? I mean, really- there’s almost as much opponent bashing here as in a presidential election! Fortunately for consumers, a bit of research combined with a dash of history is all that’s needed for making the right decision.

First, let’s compare the monthly cost of the two. An average analog, 64-channel cable bill runs about per month. If you want a digital picture and sound, add another . Additional televisions on your plan will cost between and per month, depending on if you have the digital plan or not. Of course, all local channels are included.

A typical, 60-channel satellite bill is about , including additional televisions hooked up.

Digital programming is included, as that’s all that satellites do. Local channels may be included, depending on your provider, or may cost a nominal monthly fee.

Satellite is the clear winner in cost.

Customer satisfaction is again in favor of satellite, with a 1% outage average, while cable runs about 3-5% in outages. With satellite again in the lead, Direct TV and Dish Network have best overall satisfaction rating according J.D. Power & Associates.

Cable Business is Disappearing as Customers Switch to Directv Satellite

Posted on 18th February 2011 in Cable and Satellite TV

Till very recently, Cable had little or no competition from anywhere and new customers all selected Cable.  As Satellite TV gains more subscribers and grows in customer satisfaction, those days will soon be gone.   Customers are making the switch from cable companies due to the arrival of comapnies like DirecTV.  Because of technological advances, cable no longer holds advantages over Satellite.

DirecTV Satellite Service Gives you Access to Digital Local Channels

The only way you could get local channels in the recent past was to sign up with a cable company.  However, that is no more.  Satellite providers such as DirecTV are now offering local channels.  If offered in your area, you ca even get those specified local channels in High Definition.

Everyone gets High Speed Internet Access through DirecTV.

Cable was the first television provider that could offer high speed Internet as a part of a package.  Currently, providers of Satellite service are doing the same thing, and making it more widely available to potential customers.  If you live in a rural area, a dialup connection may be your only option for Internet access.  High speed Internet service can be delivered by satellites companies like DirecTV no matter where you live because signals are being bounced back from the sky.

DISH Network, DIRECTV and FIOS TV ? The Top Providers of TV Entertainment

Posted on 25th January 2011 in Cable and Satellite TV

Are you still stuck with the boring cable TV entertainment? The TV provider neither offers you quality entertainment nor provides you a value for money service. You do not have to be a rocket scientist or some thing to understand that. Just take a look at the comparison between cable TV, satellite TV and the new fiber optics TV technology and you will understand the difference.

Cable TV is basically high priced and the price is going higher by days. The image quality of cable is often poor with a similar quality sound technology. There is hardly any HD channel that offers you round the clock satellite TV entertainment in true to life picture quality. Satellite TV does not provide you the chance to enjoy so many channels and you do not really get the chance to choose the channels that you want to watch with cable. All these things make cable a passé thing that does not offer you quality entertainment.

Thankfully there are some satellite TV providers that offer you quality TV entertainment at affordable price. They have some advanced features that make TV viewing a great pleasure. You can get amazing digital channels that offer you high quality sound and image output. You can have a great time with the choicest variety of channels on offer. You can even record your favorite shows on DVR and watch them at your convenience. This will give you the maximum amount of TV viewing pleasure.

Cable or Satellite Tv? How About Directv!

Posted on 13th December 2010 in Cable and Satellite TV

If you are still putting yourself through the daily problems and hassles caused by cable TV maybe it is time to look at your other options. I am sure that everyone who has ever owned a cable box and or cable service could make a list a mile long of problems they have had with cable. Not only is cable extremely limited in it’s own field (entertainment in general) there are countless other problems that many people have grown to accept as a standard. The first thing that the regular behind the times guy (or girl) needs to realize is that cable has become completely and totally obsolete. Now with satellite TV from DirecTV you will not even have to rush home from work to catch your favorite show (with the risk of missing it) anymore! How about dealing with a Video Cassette Recorder (also known as the VCR)? Who doesn’t have a long list of stories detailing the problems they have had with one of those old fashioned devices? Everyone knows how much trouble it is to try to set up their VCR to record a program later in the day. There really is no guarantee that it will record the show. How about simply recording on the wrong speed and ending up only getting the first half of the show. Boy that is really the most frustrating part, you were all hyped to see the new episode, and now you have to wait and hear about the ending from your friend who has TiVo and a Digital Video Recorder (also known as the DVR).
