Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance

Januar 26, 2009, Seoul, Korea – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, today unveiled the I7500, its first Android-powered mobile phone. With a launch of I7500, Samsung became the first company among the global top three mobile phone manufacturers to unveil an Android-powered phone.

“Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance and has been actively moving forward to introduce the most innovative Android mobile phone,” said JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Communication Division in Samsung Electronics. “With Samsung’s accumulated technology leadership in mobile phone industry and our consistent strategy to support every existing operating system, I believe that Samsung provides the better choices and benefits to our consumers” he added.

Samsung has opened a new chapter in Full Touch mobile history. The phone, Samsung Jet (S8000) has a look to die for. This is the phone the company claims “smarter than the smartphone”. Samsung Galaxy Pro Qwerty Android Smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Pro QWERTY Android smartphone announced

Samsung officially introduced the Samsung Galaxy Pro, an Android 2.2 Froyo smartphone, at the Samsung SEA forum in Singapore.

The Galaxy Pro has a candybar-QWERTY form factor that reminds us a lot of the Motorola DROID Pro. As far as specs are concerned, the Galaxy Pro has a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a rear-facing 3MP camera with auto-focus and video recording capabilities of 30fps. The Galaxy Pro boasts a battery life of up to 11 hours of talk time or 25.8 days standby.

Other specs include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Samsung’s Social Hub Premium software for quickly staying in touch with friends on various social networks, including Facebook and Twitter.
